The alloy of ancient Chinese bronze mirrors is Cu-Sn-Pb ternary alloy. According to the metallographic physical and chemical properties,to a certain mirror’s geometric shape of section,no matter how many we cast ,we must use the alloy of one kind of chemical composition’s burden ratio. Among the chemical composition’s analytical value of most ancient bronze mirrors ,we can find : Ranging from early Warring States to late Tang Dynasty ,the tin content in two or more mirrors of one kind remains stable but the lead content is more different .
By reproducing bronze mirrors using ancient casting technique, we find :The lead content must alter along with the change of the climate ,if we cast mirrors using a fixed alloy composition ,then,a lot of wastes will be produced.
