Dingli announces new Technical Support Manager for Americas
Elgin Robinson is joining DingLi Communications in the capacity of Technical Support Manager for North America. He has more than 13 years of experience in design, project management, support and sales for wireless, enterprise and wireline markets within North America.
Elgin started his career as a Sr. Network Project Lead with Sprint PCS supporting 2G/3G data. Recently, he has performed LTE RF network design and analysis for municipalities and state/local government. He has managed projects for DAS systems, SmartGrid and WiMAX for several energy and transportation opportunities. He has also supported several next generation initiatives with carriers such as Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T in addition to supporting several large wireless OEMs. Before joining DingLi, Elgin worked as a Sr. Sales Engineer for Alcatel-Lucent.
Elgin is excited about “rolling-up his sleeves and giving 110% to the DingLi team”. He feels that very quickly, DingLi will make a mark for themselves globally as the lead RF Test and Measurement provider.
In his leisure time, Elgin likes to run 6 miles a day and workout regularly at the gym. He loves to spend quality time with his family by watching movies, roller-skating and bowling.

中移动将启动TD LTE试商用 联通电信用户可体验
3月6日消息，记者今日从中国移动获悉，从本月中旬开始，在杭州乘坐B1快速公交线的乘客们将能获得率先体验我国主导的4G技术TD-LTE的机会，无论你是哪个移动运营商的用户，都可以全程免费上网，不限流量、无需认证，只要你的手机支持WiFi功能，就能率先体验到TD-LTE上网的感觉。中国移动工作人员告诉记者，浙江移动目前已经完成了东西纵贯的B1公交线路的TD-LTE网络覆盖，目前测试的网速最高可以达到80M，基本稳定在40-50M之间。
另据透露，随着B1公交线路的试体验活动的启动，中国移动正在紧锣密鼓制定浙江TD-LTE试商用计划，网络建设也正火热进行中，预计到5月份可以完成全城600个基站的覆盖，到2012年底可以完成近2000个基站覆盖。
据了解，浙江的TD-LTE试商用业务将覆盖三大电信运营商所有用户，中国移动表示，其他运营商用户如果要使用TD-LTE业务，无需更换手机，只要配备网络转换器等设备，即可将TD-LTE信号转换成WIFI信号接收，该设备十分小巧，携带方便。如果在公共区域或者在家中，也可以通过CPE、TD-Fi（LTE转WiFi的终端设备）等专用设备实现网络的转换接收,比如目前B1公交车上正是采用了这些设备。还有，非常小巧的随身携带的MIFI。
TD-LTE的收费政策目前尚未制定，但应会比3G更为低廉，中国移动工作人员表示：有了TD-LTE网络以后，大家喜爱的IOS、Android等智能终端能够发挥出最大效用，上网速度更快，数据资费更便宜，目前互联网上的各种功能都可以便捷地移植到手机上，人们通过智能手机、平板电脑等各类便携式移动终端，就能享受高清视频、互动游戏等原本只能出现在互联网上的业务。
2010年，中国移动在上海、杭州、南京、广州、深圳、厦门6个城市启动TD-LTE规模技术试验建设工作。杭州作为首批试点的城市，创新采用了平滑升级演进技术，网络建设进展迅速，目前第一阶段的工程已经顺利完成。“目前我们已经完成了武林商圈、黄龙商圈等杭州主城区以及滨江、下沙等点的覆盖。今年年内，我们将完成杭州大城区TD-LTE的完全覆盖，包括主城区和萧山区、余杭区，无论商业街、公交车站还是地铁等等，都能收到信号。”中国移动工作人员介绍道。
据了解，TD-LTE的信号深度覆盖能力远高于现有的3G网络，网速可达3G的十倍以上，在时延问题上也比3G网络有了显著的改善。在固定状态下，目前TD-LTE的下载速度可以高达100Mbps，一般可以稳定在70-80Mbps。可以说，LTE网络超越了普通传统固网宽带的速度，真实解决了线缆的烦恼，实现了随时随地随身的上网。就目前友好体验用户实际的使用情况来说，用TD-LTE网络下载一首7M大小的高品质歌曲用时不到1秒，下载一部40G容量的蓝光3D影片不到2小时，而如果用4M有线宽带，大概需要一天。
